Nobuhiko Tanaka
Material : Pottery stone / Pottery clay
Area : Iruma, Saitama Prefecture, Japan
Nobuhiko Tanaka creates pottery with various expressions in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture.
In recent years, his work has been marked by soft, delicate colors. Named "Color Vessels," these pieces feature a range of hues—blue, purple, red, green, yellow—and are enhanced by hakeme, or textures created with brushes, and tobikanna (chattering technique), evoking a gentle atmosphere.
Light in the hand, each piece is thin and sharp in form, crafted with a focus on functionality. Through a perfect balance of color and shape, Tanaka’s vessels provide a pleasant experience, whether used or admired.
