Yokei Kiln
Artist : Yokei Mizuno Material : Tokoname Clay Area : Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Yokei Mizuno is a highly respected master of Kyusu (Japanese teapot) crafting, based in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture. Renowned for his exceptional skill, Mizuno’s teapots are remarkably thin and lightweight, yet sturdy. The ergonomic design allows the teapot to feel like an extension of the hand, with a smooth pour and excellent tea flow.
Made from locally sourced Shudei (red clay) rich in iron oxide, these teapots are said to enhance the tea’s flavor, lending a mellow richness, especially when fired. Ideal for brewing low-temperature teas like gyokuro or sencha, Mizuno’s teapots bring out the delicate flavors in every cup.
