Artist : Yokei Mizuno Material : Tokoname clay Area : Tokoname Aichi Japan
Yokei Mizuno is a master craftsman who is respected by everyone involved in making teapots in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture.
His teapots are thin and light due to his outstanding skill. What's more, it's easy to hold, as if your hand and the teapot have become one, and the tea leaves an exceptional finish when poured.
The red clay produced in this area is said to have a mellow taste because it contains a lot of iron oxide, and high-firing without glaze the tea pot brings out its deliciousness.
Recommended for teas that are brewed slowly at low temperatures, such as Gyokuro and Sencha.
