Toru Horiguchi, an Edo Kiriko artist, was born as the grandson of the first Shūseki, completed an apprenticeship under the tutelage of the 2nd Shūseki, inherits his mentor’s title as the 3rd Shūseki, and founded Horiguchi Kiriko.
Edo Kiriko is a traditional craft that has been around for about 180 years, and is mainly known for its intricate patterns cut vertically, horizontally, and diagonally, as well as its colored glass.
Horiguchi Kiriko proposes simple, modern glassware that combines traditional Edo Kiriko with modern elements.
Not only is it beautiful to look at, but the inside of the bottom that you can see when drinking is also beautiful.
