Toubou Makiya is one of Okinawa's representative workshops,
with its neat shapes and modern design painted with cobalt.
He use Okinawan clay and a uniquely mixed glaze.
You can feel the sincerity of the work in the careful underglaze blue painting.
He is particular about Okinawan classical techniques,
and also produces traditional items such as shisa and kakubin.
