Yamahon Tobo
Artist : Tadamasa Yamamoto
Material : Iga clay
Area : Iga, Mie Prefecture, Japan
The Iga region, which was once located at the bottom of Lake Biwa, is blessed with high-quality potter's clay that is both heat-resistant and heat-retaining. Yamahon Tobo's earthenware pots, which are made only from Iga soil, are excellent because they slowly cook the ingredients and bring out their flavor.
Once heated, this earthenware pot retains warmth exceptionally well, allowing you to bring it straight to the table while keeping your food warm.
Crackling (crazing) will develop from the first use, but over time, these will seal up, strengthening the pot. Enjoy this pot as one to be slowly nurtured and grown.
