Yuko Ikeda
Area:Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan
Material:Semi-porcelain
Sekimori stones, which is one kind of barrier stones,
are used in tea ceremony gardens to imply the owner's request,
"Please do not go beyond where this stone is placed.
Ikeda has put the pleasure of spending time in Japan into this tool,
which shows the depth of Japanese people's desire
to transmit their feelings through stones.
In this exhibition, we have not only Sekimori stones
but also tea utensils such as tea bowls and tea containers.
Please enjoy Ikeda's work in the tea ceremony,
where Japanese identity is expressed.
