We are pleased to announce an exhibition by ceramic artist Gaku Nakane, to be held on the second floor of KYO AMAHARE.

Nakane speaks of his wish “to create works that bring both a sense of dissonance and a gentle openness to space.” We look forward with anticipation to seeing how his primitive, sculptural flower vessels and forms will evoke “friction” and “space” within the 130-year-old kyomachiya.

On the opening day, Friday, September 12, a tea gathering titled “Yohaku” will be held at KYO TEAHOUSE, together with the artist. We warmly invite you to join us, and we very much look forward to welcoming you.

Tea gathering "Yohaku"

At KYO TEAHOUSE, we will host a tea gathering titled “Yohaku” in conjunction with the exhibition of Gaku Nakane, opening on Friday, September 12.

The space and tea utensils will feature Nakane’s works, offering a unique setting in which to welcome our guests. On this special occasion, Nakane himself will also be present at the tea table.
