We are pleased to announce that works by Shimoo Design, crafted in Yatsuo, Toyama Prefecture, are once again available at Amahare Shirokanedai and in our Online Shop.

Among their signature Fuyou series, the pieces adorned with Kasugai (decorative joinery) are especially beloved. Crafted by Mr. Shimoo, who has spent years observing the countless expressions of wood since his early training, these works reveal natural-looking splits and chips that feel entirely organic—never forced. Each piece carries its own unique grain, texture, and finish.

We invite you to hold them in your hands and experience their quiet presence for yourself.

Of particular note is the round plate, now back in stock at Shirokanedai for the first time in quite a while. With its elevated form, it’s perfect for artfully presenting small portions of hors d'oeuvres or chilled dishes.
