shouyagrigg art amart

Living in Hokkaido, Shouya Grigg creates stunning photo art that captures the serene landscapes around Niseko. His works, primarily focused on the snowy scenery of the region, are printed on washi paper and evoke a deep sense of calm and richness, much like traditional ink wash paintings, with their elegant expression in black and white gradients.

Shouya spends time immersed in nature—seas, lakes, gorges, and snowy vistas—and only takes a shot when he feels a profound connection between the natural world and his inner self. His work is further enhanced by hand-applied chalk touches, making each piece a unique, one-of-a-kind creation.

Shouya’s artwork has the power to draw viewers into its world, evoking a sense of reflection on the values of wabi-sabi and a deep appreciation for nature—important aspects of Japanese culture that are often overlooked today.
