Artist : Tadamasa Yamamoto
Area : Iga, Mie Prefecture
Material : Iga clay
Size : Approx. Φ170 × H115 mm (Approx. 145mm incl. handles)

The Iga region in Mie Prefecture is blessed with high-quality clay that offers both heat resistance and heat retention.

Yamamoto’s donabe pots, crafted entirely from 100% Iga clay, are made in this area. Their slow, even heating brings out the natural flavors of ingredients, creating a delicious broth perfect for hot pot dishes.

Recommended dish: rice porridge. Some even say, “Rice porridge made in a Yukihira pot is different,” and specifically seek out Yukihira donabe pots.

However, Yamamoto is now the only artisan who makes these Yukihira pots entirely by hand. Please enjoy dishes prepared in these carefully crafted donabe, made one by one with meticulous attention to detail.

* CAUTION * Earthenware pots cannot be shipped internationally.
