There is a theory that the name Holto-no-ki is derived from the pronunciation of "Portuguese tree".
Looking at the complex and wild wood grain, I am fascinated by its beauty.
Distorted, chipped, cracked, or punctured….
Impressive appearance like an object.
*This is handmade one by one. The color, shape and size of the works that you received at hand may slight variations from the photographs. Please appreciate and enjoy it as character of individual pieces.
*After use, wash with a neutral detergent and a soft sponge.
After washing, let it air dry in a drainer basket.
Please store in a well-ventilated shade.
*By applying urethane to the base and then applying walnut oil, the finish is less likely to cause oil stains.
Also, use with oily food, the wood is exposed to oil, which saves the work of oiling regularly for moisturizing.
If the wood is not still moisturized, apply a thin coat of walnut oil, flaxseed oil, or perilla oil to restore the moisturization.
