At first glance, its bold and refined presence may resemble earthenware, yet—as its name suggests—this piece is in fact made of porcelain.
The rough texture and subdued tones are beautifully balanced, creating a distinctive character.
It’s a simple design, yet carries a subtle touch of playfulness.
Please note that as each piece is handmade, there may be individual variations in size, shape, glaze, and color that differ from the photos.
This work is made by mixing chamotte (a coarse powder made from fired ceramics) into porcelain clay. Though it may appear similar to earthenware, it is in fact porcelain, so liquids will not easily seep into the surface. Therefore, there is no need to boil it in rice water or perform any other sealing process before use.
