After training in papermaking in Ayabe, Kyoto—the home of Kurotani Washi—Wataru Hatano began creating works primarily using Japanese washi paper.
Driven by a desire to share the charm of washi with a wider audience, he creates art and crafts while also proposing innovative ways to incorporate washi into contemporary interior spaces.

"The Accumulation of Time" is an iconic series that represents the work of Wataru Hatano.
This series expresses the beauty of elements that have accumulated over long periods within the earth and nature.
Whether reflecting geological strata, fallen snow, decaying elements, or human memories, the unique presence brought forth by this passage of years is beautifully captured within a single panel.

Blending tradition with contemporary art, Hatano-san's creations harmonize beautifully with any interior, bringing a sense of profound comfort to daily life.
We invite you to welcome this one-of-a-kind scenery into your everyday space, watching it transform alongside the shifting shadows.
