Makai refers to a "bowl" in Okinawan pottery. Yuichi Murakami named this series out of his fondness for the time he spent training in Okinawa. The bowls are crafted with high precision, fitting perfectly when stacked or nested in different sizes.
The small size is ideal for use as a small rice bowl. The soft, rice-colored celadon glaze makes this piece easy to coordinate with any table setting. It’s a versatile gift that suits people of all ages, making it an ideal choice for occasions like weddings or birthdays.
- Each piece is handmade, so there may be slight variations in color, shape, and size from the photos. We hope you enjoy these differences as part of the unique character of each item.
