Within the pottery tradition of Karatsu there is a style called whale skin, in which iron is painted onto the rim of a cup or dish, but the whale skin of blue is Hanako's original style.

Perfect for serving grilled fish, grilled vegetables, sashimi, etc., or as a snack tray with room for an accompanying cup.
