Sabo KYO and KYO AMAHARE - III -
On Tuesday, March 31st, the tea room "居雨 / KYO" celebrated its second anniversary.
Over the past two years, we have been deeply moved by the warm support and shared sensibilities from guests both near and far. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has journeyed with us.
To mark this quiet milestone, we are pleased to announce an Online Exhibition starting at 18:00 on Friday, April 24th.
At the heart of this exhibition is "Ame no Hako" (Matcha Kit),a tea box ensemble specially created for this anniversary under the supervision of metal artist Yuichi Takemata. Along with this centerpiece, we will present a selection of curated tea utensils designed to bring a sense of "Hare" (the extraordinary) to your daily life.
Previously, "Ame-no-hako" was available exclusively within the serene atmosphere of our Kyoto location. Through this Online Exhibition, we are honored to share the artisan’s spirit and the peaceful experience of "waiting for the rain to clear" with a global audience.
In response to the dignified presence of this collection, the leading artists of KYO AMAHARE have contributed their finest works—a selection of exquisite tea utensils.
Each piece, specially commissioned for this exhibition, embodies a unique form of beauty discovered by the artist, creating a resonant harmony between them.
This symphony of craftsmanship now unfolds in an online setting. We are truly moved to see these works reach a wider audience through this digital format, allowing their stories to be shared more broadly.
These creations are the crystallization of the artists' passion and their relentless pursuit of beauty—pieces so captivating they make one lose track of time.
May you find a cherished, once-in-a-lifetime encounter within this collection.
