Online Exhibition
Sabo KYO and KYO AMAHARE - III -

On March 31st, the tea room "居雨 / KYO" celebrated its second anniversary.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the warm support and shared sensibilities we have received from guests both within Japan and from around the world over the past two years.

To mark this quiet milestone, we are pleased to announce an Online Exhibition starting at 18:00 on Friday, April 24th.

At the heart of this exhibition is "Ame-no-hako" (Matcha Kit), a tea box ensemble supervised by metal artist Yuichi Takemata. Representing our vision of traditional crafts for modern living, this collection features carefully curated Ustuwa designed to "enrich" the soul.

Previously, "Ame-no-hako" was available exclusively within the serene atmosphere of our Kyoto location. Through this Online Exhibition, we are honored to share the artisan’s spirit and the peaceful experience of "waiting for the rain to clear" with a global audience.

In response to the dignified presence of this collection, the leading artists of KYO AMAHARE have contributed their finest works—a selection of exquisite tea utensils.

Each piece, specially commissioned for this exhibition, embodies a unique form of beauty discovered by the artist, creating a resonant harmony between them.

This symphony of craftsmanship now unfolds in an online setting. We are truly moved to see these works reach a wider audience through this digital format, allowing their stories to be shared more broadly.

These creations are the crystallization of the artists' passion and their relentless pursuit of beauty—pieces so captivating they make one lose track of time.

May you find a cherished, once-in-a-lifetime encounter within this collection.
