Yuichi Takemata has an atelier in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
While working on custom jewelry as a metal engraver, he also works on making everyday items such as cutlery.
His original cutlery is made using the engraving technique, in which metal plates are hammered into shape while making a nice clicking sound.
The ryo series makes use of molds from the time when Western tableware began to be imported to Japan.
These were designed by Osamu Saruyama and pressed by Tasan Kinzoku in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, and Takemata gave it an aged finis
This cutlery is perfect for a dining table with Japanese tableware or antique pottery, and will create a wonderful table coordination.
