A one-of-a-kind form created by entrusting the process to the nature of wood. By carving the piece while the wood still retains its natural moisture, it shifts and changes over time. The softer areas are drawn by the harder ones, resulting in primitive, flowing lines that emerge naturally. The wood of the chisha tree is especially strong and flexible, offering excellent durability—qualities that lend the piece great depth and resilience. "Creating by harnessing the power of nature"—this is a form of dialogue with wood. It is a work made possible only by Mr. Fujimoto’s deep understanding of the material, resulting in a truly singular creation.

*Each piece is handcrafted. Variations in size, shape, glaze, and color are part of its unique character and may differ slightly from the photographs shown.
*After use, please wash gently with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
Allow it to air dry naturally in a draining basket.
When storing, keep in a well-ventilated, shaded place.

*A base coating of urethane is applied, followed by walnut oil to help prevent staining from oils.
When used for oil-rich dishes, the wood absorbs natural oils, reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
Should the surface begin to feel dry, you may restore its luster with a light application of walnut, linseed, or perilla (egoma) oil.
