Wataru Hatano began creating works primarily using Washi (Japanese paper) after completing his apprenticeship in papermaking in Ayabe, Kyoto—the home of "Kurotani Washi."

Driven by a profound desire for more people to discover the allure of Washi, he creates art and crafts while also proposing ways to incorporate Washi into interior spaces.

Displaying a single piece of Hatano-san's freely expressed work creates a comfortable atmosphere within the Tokonoma (alcove) styling. His works, with their soft use of color, envelop the entire space in a gentle air, quietly unwinding the heart. The natural layering of colors and the unique texture of Washi reveal different expressions every time you look at them, creating quiet moments that make you gaze at them intently.

*Since the product is made of natural materials, please do not install it in a place where it will be extremely dry or exposed to direct sunlight. It may cause damage or discoloration.
Also it is possible to peel the surface off over time.
