The gathered driftwood already carries within it a vast accumulation of memory and time.
From within these decaying materials,Mizuta-san has gently exhaled the quiet end of a single bird.

In contrast to the rugged torso, which bears the harsh traces of years spent weathered by water and wind, the bird’s expression is filled with an unexpected serenity.
It is a presence that exists at the threshold between the "deathly" texture of the material itself and the warmth of "life" emerging from within.

What do we see at this boundary?

Through emotions such as fragility and nostalgia, this is a straightforward expression of life that speaks softly to the viewer’s own memories.

The works are available to view at KYO AMAHARE.
