A View from the Window is inspired by landscapes Hatano-san encountered during his travels, memories that remain deeply engraved in his mind, and the subtle qualities of light he experiences in everyday life—what he describes as “landscapes of memory.”

By intentionally rendering these scenes in an abstract manner through the filter of a “window,” Hatano-san leaves space for viewers to project their own memories and emotions onto the work.
This openness invites each person to reconnect with a cherished landscape they may have encountered at some point in their lives.

Positioned by Hatano-san as “art that harmonizes with space,” the series brings a quiet sense of atmosphere into the home while gently complementing its surroundings.
Like opening a new window to welcome light and air, these works create a sense of spaciousness and depth, bringing subtle yet meaningful shifts to everyday living spaces.
