Naoto Yano - Karatsu Tea Bowl (Dandelion)
Number: Y00008
Artist: Naoto Yano (Karatsu, Saga Prefecture)
Material: Pottery clay
Size: Approx. Φ95×90 mm
A Special Tea Bowl for KYO Teahouse created from the dialogue between Tea Master Taku Tokuyama and Pottery Artist Naoto Yano
This unique tea bowl was born from the collaboration between Taku Tokuyama, the tea master behind KYO, Yorozu, and Naoto Yano, a pottery artist who expresses contemporary Karatsu pottery through the study of ancient ceramics.
The smooth texture of the bowl fits comfortably in the hands, offering a sense of tranquility when cupped with both hands.
Adorned with a charming dandelion motif, the deep, rich colors of the bowl, achieved through wood-fired kiln techniques, highlight its quiet, yet captivating presence.
- Each piece is handmade, and there may be slight variations in color, shape, and size from the photos. We hope you enjoy these differences as part of the unique character of each item.
- When preparing tea, we recommend pre-warming the bowl by filling it with warm water before use. This will help enhance the tea's flavor and provide a better brewing experience.
